Home to Carey & Co., the Old Engine Co. No. 2 Building was originally constructed in 1906. The firm served as the architect for the rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of the historic building, complete with seismic retrofit, mechanical and electrical upgrades, fire protection improvements, and ADA compliance. The firm also prepared a National Register nomination, a Historic Preservation Tax Credit Application, and a Mills Act Application. The project received awards from the California Preservation Foundation and the California Heritage Council.
