Williams House

Berkeley, CA
Residential

Designed by Julia Morgan in 1928, this residence combines a unique mix of architectural elements, ranging from Mediterranean and Moorish influences, Renaissance details and a Mission-style roof. Adding to the building’s eclectic design are vibrant frescos painted by American painter, Maxine Albro. Carey & Co. was retained by the property owners to assess the existing condition of the building, as well as the frescos. The final report made recommendations for repair and restoration of the roof, stucco walls, concrete tracery, and windows at tracery. An art conservator provided recommendations for the restoration of the frescos.
