IBM/Hitachi Campus

San Jose, CA
Environmental Review | Evaluations & Nominations | Planning

Architect, John Bolles designed the IBM San Jose campus in the style of “Mid-Century Modern” – a combination of geometric forms, modern materials, sculptural components, sophisticated spatial relationships, and an integrated landscape. Carey & Co. prepared a historical evaluation of the campus and its component buildings and landscapes. It was concluded that although the property as a whole was ineligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places, two structures and a historic district were eligible for the California Register and met the criteria for local San Jose landmarks.
