San Joaquin Pipeline

Environmental Review | Evaluations & Nominations | Planning

The San Joaquin Pipeline (SJPL) System consists of three, 47.5-mile long pipelines and associated portals and ancillary structures that convey water across the San Joaquin Valley. The system forms an integral part of San Francisco’s Hetch Hetchy water system completed in 1938. Carey & Co. surveyed the SJPL system and assessed its historic significance and eligibility for the California and National Registers. The firm also evaluated potential impacts to the identified historic resources and prepared mitigation measures for the Environmental Impact and Section 106 Reports.
